Bellydancers Behind Bars
Hareem Shar'eem is a collective of like minded artists who study, teach, perform, and explore the living art of middle eastern dance. We enjoy experimenting with the dance form, having studied its foundations and history diligently in order to appreciate both its roots and its growth into various forms of dance and expression. We have performed together since 2002 and enjoy educating and entertaining audiences with a unique art form that has blossomed in the United States.
We employ a number of props including zills, Turkish spoons, veil, basket, sword, fire fans, fire staff , fan veils, and double daggers. We perform tribal fusion, cabaret, Rom (gypsy), dark tribal, Gothic, and bellyesque ( a fusion of burlesque and traditional bellydance) styles of bellydance. Each member of the Wicked Harem brings her own strengths to the group and we benefit from the contribution of each dancer to the whole.
We often collaborate with other dancers, troupes, and musicians and support northeastern Ohio's dance community by performing at benefits, charity events, and cultural festivals throughout the year.

At Qaina 2010, Hareem Shar'eem performed Jezebel's new piece in Haunted Carnival style.
